Functions: Clears lungs and stops cough, harmonizes stomach and directs qi downward, quenches thirst

- Morning sickness
- Infant milk vomiting

Usage & Prescriptions
Dosage: Leaves: decoct 9-15g (fresh 15-30g); or make syrup; or pills/powder.
Hoarse voice
Fresh loquat leaves 30g, lophatherum 15g, decoct
Lung-heat cough
Loquat leaf 9g, mulberry bark 12g, scutellaria 6g, decoct
Clear stomach, moisten lungs, stop cough
A few loquat leaves, 1 snow pear, 2 pieces rock sugar, water. Simmer together

Classic Chinese lung-clearing dessert soup for cough
Servings: Serves 2
Ingredients:
- •Loquat leaves, a few
- •Snow pear, 1
- •Rock sugar, 2 pieces
- •Water as needed
Instructions:
- 1.Wash loquat leaves, wrap in cheesecloth (to filter fine hairs)
- 2.Peel and core snow pear, cut into chunks
- 3.Place all in pot with water
- 4.Bring to boil, then simmer for 30 minutes
- 5.Add rock sugar, stir to dissolve
- 6.Remove loquat leaf bag, serve warm
Caution
Wrap in cloth when decocting. Contraindicated for cold-lung cough and cold-stomach vomiting.
