Black nightshade seeds 9g, decoct, gargle and spit out

Dysentery, leukorrhea

Fresh nightshade root 20-30g, decoct to half bowl, take before meals twice daily

Nightshade Leaf Soup (Sayur Terung Pipit)

Common Malaysian/Indonesian wild herb soup — must use mature leaves

Servings: Serves 2-3

Ingredients:

  • Mature nightshade leaves 200g
  • Dried anchovies 30g
  • Garlic 3 cloves
  • Chili peppers 2
  • Water 500ml
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. 1.Use mature plant leaves only (unripe fruit is toxic!)
  2. 2.Wash the nightshade leaves
  3. 3.Sauté garlic and chili
  4. 4.Add dried anchovies and water, bring to boil
  5. 5.Add nightshade leaves, cook 3-5 minutes
  6. 6.Season with salt, serve with rice

Caution

Eating unripe fruit may cause headache, abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, dilated pupils, irregular heartbeat, confusion, or even coma.
