Usage & Prescriptions

Dosage: Whole plant: decoct 15-30g. Fruit: decoct 10-30g. Root: decoct 9-15g.

Fresh melastoma herb 30g, 2 duck eggshells, steep in boiling water

Anemia, heavy periods, restless fetus

Melastoma fruit 15-30g, decoct

Dysentery

Melastoma root 60g, decoct with rock sugar, take daily

Recipes & Preparations

Melastoma Berry Jam

Edible melastoma berries, sweet and sour, made into nutritious jam

Servings: About 500ml

Ingredients:

  • Ripe melastoma berries 500g
  • Rock sugar 150g
  • Lemon juice 1 tbsp

Instructions:

  1. 1.Pick ripe dark purple berries, wash
  2. 2.Cook in pot with a little water until soft
  3. 3.Add rock sugar, stir while cooking
  4. 4.Cook until thick, add lemon juice
  5. 5.Pour into sterilized glass jars
  6. 6.Refrigerate. Spread on bread or mix with yogurt
